Data Science Festival – August meetup @Google

On Tuesday, August 23rd I attended for the second time a Data Science Festival meetup. I must admit, it was even better than the first one. The meetup was hosted by Google Campus London. Thus, I found out about the rainy Google Actual Cloud Platform, have a look and be amazed. :))

Again, the meetup was awesome. There were two great speakers from Ocado, the online supermarket: Paul Clarke, Chief Technology Officer and Marcin Druzkowski, Data Scientist.

The first presentation was an overview of the Ocado’s innovation for online grocery retail. Having one of the most automated and sophisticated technology in the world, they are now harnessing the power of technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, simulation, swarm robotics and IoT to leapfrog itself and build a revolutionary new e-commerce, fulfilment and logistics platform.

The second presentation was about how is data science seen from an engineer perspective. For me, as a data scientist, this was  a very useful perspective, answering many of my unspoken questions. I don’t want to make any other additional comments, I let you watch the full presentation here.

Congratulations to the organizers for the amazing event, thank you for having me! Many more to come!

Stay tuned for the next event!
